Phenix Salon Suites Chicagoland – Web, Ads & Video Project

Website Design & Development

I designed and developed the Phenix Salon Suites Chicago website to showcase the brand and drive inquiries from salon professionals. The homepage features a bold hero message (“Luxury Salon Suites for Salon Professionals”) and a clean, modern layout that immediately speaks to the target audience.

  • Homepage Hero & Amenities: A welcoming hero section with a call-to-action (“Schedule a Tour”) and eye-catching images.

  • Branding & UX: Throughout the site, I kept the branding consistent with Phenix’s corporate style – using their color palette, logos, and imagery – while adding a local flair with photos from Chicago-area locations.

The result is a fast, mobile-friendly site that conveys luxury and professionalism. Salon professionals can easily find information, browse available locations, and get in touch to start their own business journey.

  • Multi-Location Directory: Phenix has 8 locations across Chicagoland, so I built a Locations page and individual location subpages.

  • Contact Integration: I implemented an interactive multi-step contact form on the site to convert interested visitors into leads. The form captures their info, inquiry type, and desired location. It’s integrated with the client’s email and notification system so that as soon as someone hits “Submit,” the team gets an alert (I even set up Pushover push notifications for instant follow-up). This ensures no inquiry falls through the cracks. The form is prominently accessible (e.g. “Contact Us” and “Schedule a Tour” prompts) and has proven effective in generating leads.

Google Ads Campaign Management

Beyond the website, I managed an aggressive Google Ads campaign to drive traffic and conversions (salon professionals booking tours or renting suites). I created and optimized 8 targeted campaigns covering both broad search terms and location-specific keywords. My technical contributions here involved deep analysis and continuous tweaking to maximize ROI:

  • Keyword Optimization: I implemented a comprehensive negative keyword strategy to filter out irrelevant clicks. For example, I noticed searches like “hair salon near me” were triggering our ads, attracting people looking for salon services instead of suite rentals. I added 13 exact-match negative keywords to block those unrelated queries. This eliminated wasteful spend and ensured our ads only reached qualified prospects – independent stylists searching for salon suite rentals.

  • Ad Copy Improvements: I rewrote and refined the ad copy across campaigns to boost relevance and click-through rates. I incorporated Phenix’s unique selling points into the headlines and descriptions. For instance, for the downtown locations I added phrases like “Multiple Locations. Book Now” to emphasize our widespread presence, and for suburb campaigns I highlighted “Lowest Price Guarantee” and “Salon Suite Rental Prices” to capture attention. These copy tweaks improved our Quality Scores and engagement. I also applied Google’s responsive ad recommendations to test different messaging.

  • Bid & Budget Tweaks: Using Google Ads data, I paused poor-performing keywords (for example, I discovered “hair shop” was generating high impressions but low-quality clicks, so I removed it) and adjusted bid strategies on high-potential campaigns. I focused the budget on top converters – e.g. phrases directly related to “salon suites for rent” – and dialed back spend on broad terms that weren’t converting. Regular weekly adjustments kept the campaigns agile and efficient.

Results: These efforts led to a significant boost in lead generation. In the first month of optimizations, conversions increased across our campaigns, and the client’s inbox began filling with inquiries. Not only did we increase the volume of leads, but the lead quality improved as well – the client noted that inquiries were coming in “consistently via both form submissions and phone calls,” indicating that our ads were engaging prospects across multiple channels. I provided the team with detailed weekly performance reports and recommendations for next steps. Overall, the Google Ads campaign I manage is a reliable engine of growth for Phenix Chicago, driving a steady stream of qualified leads to fill their salon suites.

Video Production & Social Media

Creativity was key in this project – I didn’t just build a website and campaigns, I also produced a high-impact promotional video to bring Phenix’s story to life. Working closely with the client, I planned and executed a video shoot at the flagship Chicago location (North Bridge on Michigan Avenue). I handled the project end-to-end: filming on-site, editing the footage, and delivering final cuts optimized for different platforms.

  • Production & Editing: I captured dynamic 4K footage of the salon suites, common areas, and amenities, After the shoot, I performed color correction and editing to craft a polished 60-second promo video that encapsulates the Phenix Chicagoland experience. The editing process included adding upbeat music, on-screen text callouts, and smooth transitions.

  • Delivery & Distribution: The final video was published on YouTube and embedded on the Phenix Chicago website’s Michigan Avenue page for maximum exposure to site visitors. I also provided the vertical cut which the client shared on social media channels. By tailoring the content to each platform, we ensured the video reached our audience wherever they were consuming content. The video’s style was energetic and aspirational – perfectly aligned with Phenix’s message of “be your own boss.” It showcases the beautiful private suites and amenities in a way that inspires stylists to envision their own business thriving in these spaces.

The client was thrilled with the video. The video content boosted Phenix’s online engagement – it not only enriched the website but also helped attract attention on Facebook and Instagram, leading to an uptick in inquiries. By combining visual storytelling with our other marketing efforts, we reinforced Phenix’s brand credibility and excited more stylists about joining the Phenix family.

This project was a comprehensive showcase of my ability to blend creative design, technical development, and marketing strategy to achieve tangible results. I delivered a modern, branded landing page website with interactive features that streamline lead capture, managed data-driven ad campaigns that significantly increased conversions while optimizing spend, and produced engaging video content that brought the client’s vision to life.
