How I Use AI

I use AI tools every day in design, development, maintenance and SEO work. Clients deserve to know exactly what that means, so here it is in plain language.

What AI does in my work

AI coding agents such as Claude Code and OpenAI Codex read code, crawl sites, find problems, draft fixes, write scripts and check results. They are fast and thorough at the legwork: checking every page instead of a sample, testing a change before and after, keeping records of what was done.

What AI does not do

It does not decide what your business needs, approve its own work, or talk to your customers without your say-so. I make the decisions, I review everything before it ships, and I am the person responsible for the result, exactly as I have been for more than 25 years.

The rules I work by

• Staging before live. Changes are tested on a private copy of your site first.
• Backups before every change. Anything can be rolled back.
• Your data stays yours. Customer records, passwords and payment data do not go into AI tools. Working copies of a site have live credentials removed.
• You own the work. Code, content and designs are yours, as they always have been.
• No invented facts. Copy I write for you says what is true about your business. If I do not know, I ask.
• Honest about limits. If AI is the wrong tool for a job, I say so.
